Born and bred in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, MC/Producer ScienZe has been consistently releasing music for the last 10 years. Drawing inspiration from the DIY aesthetic found in independent films and world music; while exploring themes of love, loss and the importance of having a thirst for knowledge, Scienze has long recognized the importance of collaborating, keeping an open mind, and bringing depth to his music.
After the release of “Ode 2 Dilla”and his critically acclaimed “Hall Pass”, ScienZe has since garnered attention from popular online music blogs like 2dopeboyz, OkayPlayer, DJBooth.net, The Source, Complex, and Pigeons and Planes to name a few. ScienZe has also been featured in XXLʼs “The Break,” with his LP, “Ella”.
With over 30,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, ScienZe’s leading single “Charlie Brown” has collected over 2 million streams. Soon after his release of “Ella”, ScienZe was invited to a 5-country European Tour with his comrades, King I Divine, Fresh Daily and Chuk Le Garçon. The Marauders Tour, which is named after the group composed of ScienZe, Fresh Daily, and Chuk Le Garçon, lasted 28 days, and ended in Germany. He’s since released 3 projects that has contributed to the growth of his grass-roots following, and embarked on a national tour spanning 14 cities on the east coast.
Outside of music, ScienZe believes that education is very important, and continues to work with Lincoln Center’s educational program performing in schools all around New York City with a building session after each performance for students to get a chance to talk to an artist about music and life.
ScienZe has performed and worked with Ski Beatz, Homeboy Sandman, Blu, Asher Roth, Sylvan LaCue, Oh No, Sha Stimuli, King I Divine, Hippie Sabotage, IamNobdi, Sene, Radamiz, EOM, D.Julien, and Vinyl Frontiers to name a few.
